Philipp at his desk, drawn in pixel art, playing a graphic adventure

Hi! I'm Philipp from Germany, and I love adventure games. Hope you do too!

In fact, one of my reasons for diving deep into programming years ago was to create a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure engine. Before that, I had used a pixel animation program, laborously painting screen after screen of each adventure station as a cell in an animation file. But when the many drawings overflowed and crashed the program, it took all my work with -- unrecoverably!

After thus exploring creating my own adventure engine, I quickly went on to making action games, RPGs, and more.

Now with this project, I wanted to see how a graphic adventure engine would look when done together with the amazing Claude AI. I've tried it many times before over the years with other AI, but none quite "got" the look and feel. Claude now, however, does -- brilliantly. So what you see here is us embarking on the quest to make quests... that entertain and challenge you.

With these adventures, we wanted to leave no (pixel) stone unturned. There's shadows, reflections, particle effects, humor, serious stories, cover art, arcs, unlockable sequels, and much more. The credits at the end of each adventure will tell you that we roughly split up the work like this: Writing & Drawing by Claude, Premise and Direction by me, and the Engine made by us together. (ChatGPT is also in the mix, and I can't wait to try new Google AIs in the future for this.) That's roundabout it, and the result of weeks of iterations and discussions -- and a life of playing adventure games*, reading about storytelling, and watching films.

Got a new idea for an adventure setting? Let me know, and also let me know all your other feedback. But for now...

- Enjoy! Philipp

*To name just a few: LucasFilm's Monkey Island, Zak McKracken, Loom, Indiana Jones... Sierra's Leisure Suit Larry... and Infocom's text adventures like Zork or The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
